The rain cleared just in time for more than 645 walkers to fill the concourse at Truist Field on Saturday, May 17, for Safe Alliance's 13th annual Walk A Mile. What started as a cloudy morning turned into a beautiful day, proof that not even the threat of storms could stop Charlotte from showing up for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
Together, families, friends, coworkers, and advocates walked side by side, raising over $158,000 to support Safe Alliance's critical services, including emergency shelter, trauma counseling, legal advocacy, and the 24/7 Greater Charlotte Hope Line. And walking on a baseball field gave the day a powerful message: on a field known for home runs, we reminded the community that everyone deserves to be safe at home.
We're especially grateful to our presenting sponsors, Covia and Great Clips, and to our dedicated Walk A Mile Committee for bringing this to life!
